Signals Behind The Work
Food Photographer in Croatia
Plated food, bar detail, beverage, and seasonal menu photography for Croatian restaurants and hospitality brands — built for menus, social cadence, and brand campaigns.
Food photography in Croatia has two failure modes. The first is the stock-blogger look — overhead shot of a plate against a wooden table, indistinguishable from any other Mediterranean restaurant. The second is the over-styled magazine look — beautiful but unusable because nothing in it matches what the kitchen actually plates. The work below avoids both. Plates are shot how the restaurant serves them, with the venue's real light and the chef's actual plating standard. Coverage is built so the same shoot feeds menus, social cadence, OTA listings, and seasonal campaigns — not so a single hero image lives in a folder and the rest gets forgotten.

How I Approach It
Each food engagement starts with the menu itself. We pick the dishes that matter — signature plates, seasonal launches, anything that needs to actually drive bookings — then plan light around them. Most useful food shoots run during prep hours when the kitchen has space, with a parallel beverage and bar-detail pass during quieter service. Output is organised by use case: hero menu images, social verticals, OTA-ready exports, brand-deck masters. Same restaurant on year two pays less for sharper coverage because the system carries forward.

Common Questions
Do you shoot in the kitchen or in the dining room?
Both, scheduled separately. Kitchen prep is the right environment for plate-build documentation. Dining room is the right environment for the served, occupied feel. The same dish gets one shot of each.
Can the menu coverage feed Instagram too, or is that separate?
Same engagement. We shoot horizontals for the menu and verticals for social in the same pass — different framing, same plate. Cuts the per-asset cost significantly.
Do you handle drink and cocktail photography?
Yes. Most restaurant engagements include a beverage pass for cocktails, wine pours, and bar-detail frames. Wineries and beverage brands can engage on that alone.
Do you work for restaurants outside Split?
Yes. Greater Split (Stobreč, Trogir, Klis, Kaštela) is the home market, and I travel along the Dalmatian coast and to Hvar for menu launches and hotel F&B work.
